“The Next Great Package” Design Challenge Helps Solve Everyday Problems

The Next Great Package - Moe's 102618 FINAL
November 1, 2018

It goes without saying that as an industry, we’re firm believers that innovations in paperboard and corrugated packaging can be used to solve some of life’s everyday challenges. But this month we are putting our money where our mouth is with the launch of our own reality style design challenge and 3-part video series, “The Next Great Package.”

The Next Great Package - Yotel 102618 FINAL

Hosted by design and technology commentator Adesina Sanchez, the contest documents the journey of some of the country’s brightest engineers and designers going one on one as they develop solutions to three very different problems using paper and cardboard. The design challenge ranged from creating a shoebox design for fashionistas with limited physical mobility for Zappos, to a family-style takeout taco kit for Moe’s Southwest Grill and a functional, tech-forward tissue box for YOTEL hotels.

How did our designers interpret these unique challenges, and who will create The Next Great Package? Go to our How Life Unfolds

When you use paper products, you’re doing your part to help the planet. Because the paper, packaging and boxes you rely on every day are designed to be easily recycled. In fact, paper is one of the most recycled material in the U.S., and it comes from a natural and renewable resource—trees. Choosing paper products encourages U.S. forest owners to grow and maintain healthy forests, nearly twice the amount that’s used to make the products we need. Follow us on social for more.
